]]> SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — Logs fell from a timber truck in Surry County, N.C. on US-601 on Wednesday morning. Troopers stated the timber truck was heading north and came into a right-hand curve, went left of center & overturned losing some of its load.

According to troopers April Hill, 42 and a child died after the car they were traveling in was struck by logs.

The driver of the timber truck has been identified as Jeffrey McManus, 44 from Dobson. Highway patrol has indicated that charges are pending for him.

]]> The driver of a tractor-trailer died Wednesday morning in Greenville County when it hit a storage shed that had come off the trailer that was carrying it, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. 

The incident began when the shed hit a guardrail and broke free from the trailer. When the building went into the westbound lane, Zeigler’s tractor-trailer hit it head-on. According to the coroner, Zeigler died at the scene.  The driver of the truck pulling the shed was uninjured.
